Seperated from your loved one in the Dominican Republic

I recently went on vacation to Puerto Plata, RD and while there I fell in "Love". I am from the USA and I am now separated from my loved one. I have started the process of obtaining a Fiance Visa however this is all new to me. So I decided to start a blog in hopes that others share my experience!!! I have since being home tried to find resources to stay connected to him that did not cost so much. So anyway here it goes my blog???? Any Comments???

Seperated from your loved one in the Dominican Republic

OK well this is my first post so I have been home from the Dominican Republic since the end of March 2010. I never believed in "love at first sight" until now... because while I was in the D.R. I found my soul mate, however I had to leave him behind!  I have recently applied for the K-1 Fiance' Visa to bring him to the USA however from what I have recently learned it is a long process with no guarntee at the end that it will be approved. So you can only imagine how I feel no knowing?  I am not sure if this will help but I thought I would give it a try to see if anyone else has experienced this or a similar situation.. Anyone???

I found this newspaper and started to read it because I wanted to know what was going on where my boyfriend is of course after reading some of the articles I wondered do I really want to know? Yes is the answer no matter how bad I want to know and understand what he is also going through.  I hope that he understands how much I really do love him and pray that this whole process will go smoothly, if not I have no idea where to go from that point. But as the saying goes, "Cross that bridge when you get there".

I have researched ways to communicate for both of us that were the cheapest, however besides instant messanger that is free everything else is quite costly. Texting and calling on the telephone are VERY EXPENSIVE if you talk everyday several times a day.... so as you can imagine my bills have been very HIGH also but worth it!
