Seperated from your loved one in the Dominican Republic

Posted by Amy Ramirez at 18:55 on Jul 13 2010

OK well this is my first post so I have been home from the Dominican Republic since the end of March 2010. I never believed in "love at first sight" until now... because while I was in the D.R. I found my soul mate, however I had to leave him behind!  I have recently applied for the K-1 Fiance' Visa to bring him to the USA however from what I have recently learned it is a long process with no guarntee at the end that it will be approved. So you can only imagine how I feel no knowing?  I am not sure if this will help but I thought I would give it a try to see if anyone else has experienced this or a similar situation.. Anyone???

I found this newspaper and started to read it because I wanted to know what was going on where my boyfriend is of course after reading some of the articles I wondered do I really want to know? Yes is the answer no matter how bad I want to know and understand what he is also going through.  I hope that he understands how much I really do love him and pray that this whole process will go smoothly, if not I have no idea where to go from that point. But as the saying goes, "Cross that bridge when you get there".

I have researched ways to communicate for both of us that were the cheapest, however besides instant messanger that is free everything else is quite costly. Texting and calling on the telephone are VERY EXPENSIVE if you talk everyday several times a day.... so as you can imagine my bills have been very HIGH also but worth it!

Well I appreciate all of your comments and believe me I am very aware of "fakes" and people who scam you... I actually work for law enforcement in the U.S. and deal with the bad everyday! So I am a pretty good judge of people who are not real. I recently came back to the D.R. and spent a whole week with my boyfriend and it was wonderful. I got to see where and how he lives and I must say that even if he were scamming me just for money he needs much more then I do because the way he has to live is horrible! I don't know but I still believe that what we have is real and I hope that one day soon I will have a happy ending to my story for all of you so that you will see that maybe there is such a thing as true love!! We have applied for the K-1 finace Visa and soon hope to have him here in the USA. I really do appreciate all of the feed back so please keep me posted if you have any new information... Amy R

Dear Amy Ramirez as soon as that plane lands in America he will kick your ass. He just wants your money and paperwork don;t do it. I can prove to you of he's real or not. One day call him and tell him you're broke and you will have to move to Charamicos (Sosua). Sit back and watch if he still "loves" you

For someone working in the law enforcement field, seems like you turned your BS radar off. Time to flick that switch ON again. Buena suerte.

I have seen this happen a million times and I have to add my "Watch out, Amy." I have seen broken hearts and bankruptcies- it will never end- first a new phone, then a new roof, new place to live, operation for cousins, brothers, sister...prescriptions, money for school, clothes etc...be very careful and know that all we are trying to do is open your eyes. Most of the marriages between Dominican Men and American/Canadian/British women are for convenience only and you must really know what you are doing. If you really want to experience whether you are meant to be, then take a leave of absence from work for a month- 3 or 6, even better- and see what it's like there...living his life and his family. If after you have done that, then by all means, apply for the Visa and bring him to your country.
I hope it works out- keep us posted!

92% of these types of relationships end up in divorce in the first six months, check the stats in USA and Canada. Goes for Cubans and Dominicans and sad to say but a fact is a fact. For these people love is a green card so wake up.

OH DEAR ANOTHER STARRY EYED SUCKER
soulmate my foot you will have been introduced to his wife and kids and told they are his cousins or his sister. the whole family will be in on it while they are kissing your backside. they have no morals and no concience as someone once told me, they dont love they need. they would leave you in the gutter without a backward glance. ive lost count of the women and the men who have been conned out of everything if you go ahead after all thats been said to you AND YOU PROBABLY WILL THEN YOU DESERVE ALL YOU GET SORRY BUT THE TRUTH HURTS.

Amy. Dominican are the best "actors" when love is come. They watch soap operas like nobody in this world. They're scammers, crooks, thieves, liars, you name it. And since a live in Dr for 5 years, I NEVER listen to a happy ending in this love histories. READ MY LIPS "NEVER". Just come to visit your "chulo" enjoy and just be careful.
