i will be visiting purto plata, sosua and cabarete next month, driving a car around with no road maps looks difficult, could anyone tell me where to get a map and if i can use any GPS device in that part of the world, thanks, leo

there are maps in the supermarkets and other places I think - you don't need gps really here as small towns, particlularly cabarete which is one road!

I haven't heard of gps working here yet - I assume it will work but no gps providers have decent maps of the area.
