I am sorry i need to ask this but all the info has begun to confuse me. I am British citizen and I want my cedula so I can work here in DR legally. My confusion is this, is Cedula part of the residency process?
Would it be possible for someone to quickly run by the steps in a very basic manner. 1-5 or whatever, with complete prices from start to end and time.

yes, you get a cedula which is your Dominican ID when you have residency. I'm not an expert, but the basic process is described here Dominican Lawyer.

If you are using a lawyer, which I assume you are, they should explain it to you. If they don't then you should use a different lawyer.

Many people here just come over and work. Depends on what you do and how you are paid. Then if you like it you can work on getting the residency.

First residency which is called temporary residency takes about 4 months and cost 1000-1200 or using a lawyer. good for a year and takes 2 trips to Santo Domingo. You must apply for your permanent in 1 year or less and costs the same thing and equal time to get. Good for 8 years and easily and cheaply renewable.
