Leaky tire on 22 INCH Chrome Wheel!

Who can help in Sosua area??? I have a screw in my tire, so I always lose a little air, until it is flat. Who can repair a 22 INCH - any experience? Thanks, for you help... Tina

Tina, take your car to the "Gomero" on the main street in Sosua--right near the TExaco gas station--not towards Playero supermarket--but in the opposite direction--looking towards Cabarete. in fact, it sits almost on the corner looking east. you can almost throw a rock from the Texaco gas station and hit the place. it's on the same side of the TExaco gas station but 50 meters east. I can't believe no one here has responded to this question.

Hi Frank - thanks for your answer...
Are you sure, that they are able to mount a 22 inch wheel on their machinery?
Also it is important, that they will not scratch my chrome - the wheels are almost new...

Haha, if you're being funny, then yes, you got my attention now. still, i will entertain your question: I highly doubt they would take the tire off your pimp mobile--my guess is that you are driving either a Hurst Cadillac borrowed from some funeral home in Gaspar Hernandez, or 1979 Lime Green Pontiac station Wagon borrowed from a pimp in lower Sosua.

My guess is that they will simply pull the screw out of your tire and plug the hole right there and then. the whole process takes about, oh, i don't know, ten seconds maybe, but that's only if he's still talking on the phone with his girlfriend while fixing your tire.

In repsonse to the scratching of your crome wheel: first, it's just stuff--a wheel--chrome or no chrome; and secondly, since when did anything nice remain that way for long down here in the dominican republic?

Thank you, again...
Well - the wheels are not on a pimp car, they are on a SUV, and yes, the vehicle is already one year in this country, and the wheels still look like new... :)

So if I understand you right, the shop in Sosua has a technic to repair the leaky tires, without taking them off the rim?

Because with other SUVs we have been at several "Gomeros" to repair tires, but every time they took them off the rim, to fix the leak...

Taking the tire off the car and patching it from the inside is the "right" way to fix the tire. if they have done this in the past then i must say that i am impressed to hear that! But yes, they do have a tire machine that takes the tire off the rim at that location. i would ask them to take the tire off of your rim and fix it the "Right" way. pulling the screw out and plugging the hole also works but it's the lazy way to fix a tire. Good Luck

PS. I'm happy to hear that you're not driving the Cadillac Hurst from Gaspar Hernandez's Funeral home. They also have 22 inch tires!

I think the problem is you have a faulty screw. Screws should not under normal circumstances lose air.
This shouldn't take much to fix. Simply remove the faulty screw, and insert a new screw easily obtained locally from a ferreteria. You could also import one, but the local ones are just as good, and more environmentally friendly. While you are at it, it may be worth obtaining a slightly larger screw, perhaps 1 or 2 picas wider which should ensure that the displacement of rubber around the circumference provides a nice tight seal.
If you need me to talk through this operation, call me on 809-571-3844 and ask for Hefedeluz (my nickname!).
Saludos!

@getthis
Did you just tell her, to replace the screw in the tire, with a bigger one???
Oh my lord! How many years are you already in this country?
