i think only tri-band. you can buy cheap phones here, either new or second-hand, so not a big deal.

Hello there... well you can use a dual band 900 / 1800 here.. but you will alway having reception trouble. For example.. Claro works on a 850 / 1900 network and Orange works on the 900 / 1800 network. Since in some areas reception isnt that good... (same as in the US), if would be much better to have a triband phone instead. And yes you can buy here at Claro or Orange Shops cheap prepaid phones for 395 Pesos. I would not recommend to buy one at the street even if the are selling them that cheap... if the company finds somehow out that they will block your Sim Card AND the phone... that means they are useless.
