street vending is popular but extremely poorly represented in dom. rep. i retired very comfortably doing this for years in florida,using very colorful carts,operated by neat, cheerful, dressed with decent and clean uniform. thats not hard to do, just find the right location.high profit, low overhead.i visit the island on a regular basis and thought to do it there, but then i thought i rather rest. i can direct you if you wish, email lee @ classicdogs@hotmail.com

Finding good and loyal employees is not at all easy.
Labour laws in this country are very "uneasy".
The best business here seems to be to sell one's business to a newbie...

i am owner and always show up myself. p.i.t.ass.. but alot is riding on a job. car, materials,equipment etc... salary, deposits balance quality of work etc...
and i figure if ex/pats want cheap work they can get it almost anywhere. on time, right stuff, no rip off s important things...

I have a couple of good businesses for sale - a surf shop in Cabarete making $1000 a month and potential for much more - as it is not owner operated right now - has $25,000 retail in stock - will sell for $18,000 - new renovation, AC, display booths etc. - good lease - up to 5 years!
