work visa - you are best to apply for provisional residency when you arrive - that will allow you to work immediately. A lawyer could advise better on this.

you can apply for a work visa 45 days after arriving, I found a lawyer who will do the work for you for $950, a real bargain, all you need to do is take a physical which he sets up for you, and he is present for most of this, have ID photos, and copies of your passport. That is it. No waiting in line. It takes 2 months to receive a transitional visa, cedula. This lawyer is in StoDgo where the Migration office is.
