107 arrested in DNCD/Police joint operation

The National Drugs Control (DNCD) today announced 107 arrests in a joint operation with the police in Santo Domingo, Santiago, La Romana and Higuey.

Various drugs were seized including 597 packets of cocaine, 496 of marijuana, 167 of crack cocaine, and a selection of items for selling and using drugs. Roberto Lebron, DNCD spokesman said they made the arrests at 40 different locations  in the early hours of Saturday morning. He also confirmed that some of the units involved had been attacked with stones during the operation.

Amongst those detained were; Algenis Mej�a Marte, Jos� Miguel D�az, Pedro Luis Corpor�n Hiciano, Manuel Ozoria G�mez, Pedro de Jes�s Medina M�ndez, Jos� Miguel Morillo Reyes and Katiria Johann Fern�ndez Collado.

One woman, Lucrecia Martinez Cruz was arrested  with 47 packets of cocaine in her possession.

All the suspects were caught by the police and DNCD red-handed, according to a report released by the counter-narcotics agency.
