2011 leaves more than 200 women murdered

The amount of murders of women in a violent manner and complaints of aggression in the prosecutions in the country, became the 2011 in a tragic year for Dominican families. Officials, politicians, dung and military were brought to justice accused of assaulting their partners in the 12 months to conclude.

The last reported case corresponds to the former Senator Tonty Rutinel, whom the Office of permanent attention of the National District imposed measure of restraint for alleged assault a woman with who had a son, made that puts him in prison several days ago. Previously he was imprisoned and sent to Najayo, to pre-trial detention, the baseball player Willy Aybar, also from the same cause. They are just two examples of gender-based violence this year.
