There were major projects that materialized.
The entrance to the national interconnected system (SENI) Los Cocos and Quilvio Cabrera wind parks in Pedernales, marked a before and an later on renewable energy in Dominican Republic.
Are the first in this category to operate in the country, with an installed capacity of 33 megawatts of power and an investment of US$ 100 million. This work had been declared priority by the National Commission energy (CNE), chaired by Enrique Ramírez.
The opening ceremony was attended by President Leonel Fernandez, who pressed the button which symbolically marked the start-up of the project, in the presence of Enrique Ramírez, President of u000athe CNE; EGE Haina, Edgar Pichardo, President and general manager, Tito Sanjurjo, as well as Celso Marranzini, Executive Vice President of the Dominican Corporation of State electric companies (CDEEE) and Juan Bautista Gomez, Superintendent of electricity (SIE), among other personalities.
The Park wind Los Cocos, built in the community of Juancho, Pedernales province, will generate 25 megawatts, from 14 wind turbines of the Danish company Vestas, leader in technology. Meanwhile, the Park Quilvio Cabrera will generate 8 megawatts, with five wind turbines from the same company Danish.
The authorities estimate that with the entry into the Park line the country annually save 200,000 barrels of oil imports and at the same time prevent the emission of polluting the atmosphere with more than 70,000 tons of CO2.
"East 2011 we became the first country in the Caribbean which produces wind power and the seventh in" u000aLatin America in the wind energy production. But there does not end this revolution of clean energy that we have set ourselves. "The second phase of this project will be 52 megabytes, that if God wants it we will be inaugurating between May and July of next year", said.
The President of the CNE explained that there are two more confirmed wind projects. Is is from one of 30 megs in the area of Matafongo, of Baní, of the company Spanish Inveravante, which will be ready in its first stage in 2012, ending to the half of 2013. Another important project in 50 megs, said Ramirez, will be located in the area of Guanillo, Montecristi, of the company Pecasa.
Both projects have been funded by the Inter-American Bank of development (IDB).
"This means that from 2012 to 2013 Dominican Republic will feature approximately 165 Meg wind and thus already we will not be the second in the region per capita by inhabitants, we will be the" u000a"first, rather than Brazil, which has the most now by the amount of megabytes produced", reported Ramírez.
The CNE also refers in his report to the rehabilitation of the electricity networks. Edesur and EGE Haina signed an agreement with an investment of $3.2 million for the rehabilitation of networks in Los Cocos, Juancho, Villa Esperanza and Oviedo, adjacent to the wind power, and 3,100 users of the service have electric.
With regard to the support received by the official sector, Felipe Vicini, as a shareholder of EGE Haina, gave recognition to the CNE; received it its President, Enrique Ramírez, for their commitment to the conversion of Dominican energy matrix and its support for the project.
"Generation is no longer a monopoly, it is something for everyone;" energy security is increasing steadily, pessimism is forbidden and our future is bright.
We are part of this project which was u000aengavetado for years, but thank God is already a reality. "We will always remember as the first, and it's been in my Administration fills me with pride," said Ramirez.
In March is gave formal home to a series of meetings with them new productivity energy of them ofici-nas Government, as part of the measures announced by the President of the Republic, before el stands of el price of el oil.
.During may, June, July, August, September and October, the CNE published successively in various media the results of saving and energy efficiency program in public institutions of the country, a milestone as regards transparency in the context of the energy consumption in public offices.
In this regard, the CNE has received so far the response of 146 institutions Government on the appointment of the Manager energy.
During the development of the meetings of energy managers, are u000athey deplete items on the lines of action for energy efficiency, as well as the efficiency of the fuel.
A photovoltaic generation Park
this year, the Dominican Corporation of State electric companies (CDEEE), the National Commission energy (CNE) and the JRC Electronic German company signed the first contract of purchase of photovoltaic energy to install a park of 30 megawatts a year solar generation in October, in Monte Plata. The work will have an investment of about $120 billion.
The contract of purchase and sale of energy establishes that JRC Electronic will supply 100% of the energy produced to the CDEEE for 20 years, at a price of 19.9 cents by kilowatt hours, a figure far below the ceiling of 53 cents the law 57-07 of energies renewable.
Convention was signed by the Executive Vice-President of the CDEEE, Celso Marranzini; the u000aPresident of the CNE, Enrique Ramírez, and the Manager of the JRC Electronic, Uwe Ganser. company
In addition, counted with the presence of the Ambassador of Germany in the country, Thomas C. Bruns, and German executives Stefan Schwind and Bertrand Schwind, and Superintendent of electricity, Juan Bautista Gomez.
In April, the CNE and the General Directorate of procurement and contracting (DGCP) formalized document that instructs the procurement of goods and services, incorporating energy efficiency criteria, setting instructions to guide the Dominican State on processes that attached to law 304-06 on purchasing procurement of goods, works and services concessions, according to the development of existing rules of, with the interest of achieving a reduction in the consumption of electricity to energy efficiency. Also, the CNE and the Directorate of Customs (DGA)
