2 drugs carriers arrested at Las Americas airport

A Spanish citizen, Vicente Ramos Piña was arrested at the Las Americas airport, before boarding an Air Europa flight to Madrid. The National drug Control Agency (DNCD) reported that they had seized two suitcases with false bottoms filled with bags of a white powder weighing five kilos.
Also at the same airport, a young 17 year old Puerto Rican woman was arrested trying to fly to New York on a Jet Blue flight. She had four packets of white powder presumed to be cocaine, weighing a kilo. The substance was molded into two pairs of shoes hidden in a suitcase.
The detainees were taken to the DNCD headquarters, where they are under investigation before being taken to court.. The substances seized, which also could be heroin, and other property belonging to the detainees, have been deposited in the DNCD Chain of Custody Department.
