Juan Manuel Mendez Garcia, head of the emergency agency, said that during the holiday there were 102 traffic accidents in which 29 people were killed and 194 people were injured, adding that 3 people had drowned as well.
At the last press conference given by the COE for the Holy Week, Mndez Garca said that 57 people were treated for alcohol poisoning and 31 for food. poisoning. He noted that some 3 people died in motorcycle accidents and 16 in other traffic accidents.
The total number of deaths last year was 56 making a reduction of 43 percent, there were 107 traffic accidents, a reduction of only 5 percent.
