Those arrested were identified as Diallo Ifra, Sall Ibrahim and Hammou Mohamed Rafik.
The three were prevented from boarding Air Mediterranean flight DR5335, after drugs were discovered in their luggage by members of the Center for Information and Joint Coordination (CICC).
The packages were sent immediately to the DNCD headquarters in Santo Domingo, for analysis, confirmed DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebron. The detainees will be sent immediately to the Attorney General in Santo Domingo to be brought to justice.
"The seizure was carried out by officers in a routine check before the three men boarded the flight," Lebron said in a statement issued on behalf of DNCD chief, Major General Rolando Rosado Mateo.
He said the three men, displayed a nervous attitude when agents of the CESA and DNCD started to check their luggage, so suspicions were aroused immediately.
The packages were removed from the luggage in the presence of Deputy Prosecutor, Bienvenido Florentino Rosario.
The French Embassy will be notified of the case, as is standard practice when foreigners are arrested.
