Providing the information, the agency's director, Enrique Diaz, said the operation was part of a larger plan to enforce all regulatory measures to organize traffic in the city of Puerto Plata.
He added that the council had ordered the supply of High Visibility jackets which would be difficult to counterfeit..
Enrique Diaz said that as part of the improvement in traffic control, he had also removed motoconcho waiting areas at Independence Square, near the Reserve Bank and at La Sirena.
An agreement was also reached with taxi drivers in Independence Square that only two vehicles could park there, while others must remain at their base until they are summoned by radio.
Diaz also said from next Monday all illegally parked vehicles will be towed by the two Cabildo recovery trucks to the Municipal Police offices and their owners would have to pay fines for them to be returned .
