85 foreigners deported in 17 months

Viewed 669 times.Dominican Immigration say they have deported a total of 85 foreigners over the last 17 months on charges of violation of immigration law and drugs, including some who were living in the Dominican Republic and were wanted by authorities in their home countries.
According to statistics from the Directorate General of Immigration, headed by Dr. Jose Ricardo Taveras, the deportations were from January 2010 until August this year.
According to the report , Immigration deported 25 Haitians, 14 Cubans, 6 Germans, five Dutch, 4 Venezuelan, 5 Indian, 2 Mexicans, 2 Italians, 2 Iranians and 2 Canadians. Also a Turk, a Belgian, a Puerto Rican, a Romanian, a Russian, a Hungarian, a Swede, a Curacaon, a Czech and a Bolivian.
Of this total, 13 were deported for breaking the law 50-88 on drugs and controlled substances and the others for violating immigration laws.
The last deportation was that of Frenchman, Thierry André Eugene Barde, who killed a suspect who assualted him whilehe was leaving a bank recently. Barde was wanted by French authorities regarding a pending drug case.
Among the deportees include Venezuelan Juan Carlos Torres Cardenas, Alejandro Guriny and Juan Carlos Torres Hernández, who were wanted by authorities in Venezuela.
Others on the wanted list who were deported include German citizens Joerg Pippinger and Cen Kucukoba, who were wanted by Interpol, Italian Rafaele Cacciapuoti and Mexican José Luis Martínez Vidrio.
