8 more kids become sick after school milk

Eight Children at Felix Antonio Robles school in  San Jose de las Matas have been taken to the local hospital, apparently suffering food poisoning after drinking their school milk.  Dr. Ivelisse Gomez said the pupils are stable, but will have to be given a controlled diet in the coming days until full recovery.

This problem just refuses to go away. All milk was removed from school meals earlier this year while tests were carried out at manufacturing and distribution companies. No problems were found, yet we are still seeing a regular occurrence of the same problem
The Minister has already suspended LADOM milk nationally for the rest of the year and the school's interim director, Professor Maria Elena Rodriguez suspended distribution of Parmalat milk and juice to prevent any new cases. The Ministry of Education sent a commission headed by Dr. Jose Rivas to the hospital in San Jose de las Matas to assess the situation and take preventive measures.

Meanwhile, reports have been circulating about eight students in the municipality of Altamira,  Rio Grande, who became ill on Wednesday after drinking apple juice with the school breakfast.

Recently, dozens of students were taken ill in Rio San Juan and Maria Trinidad Sanchez after drinking school breakfast milk. The Minister of Education, Malaneo Paredes attributed it to "intolerance" to milk, but even so suspended LADOM milk from distribution to schools.
