Viewed 311 times. The president of the National Drugs Control (DNCD) today warned that he will act ruthlessly if it is determined that two of his officers are linked to a drug ring from which was seized 229 thousand kilos and 690 grams of liquid cocaine. The haul has been allegedly tied to two Bulgarian citizens.
In confirming the investigation of the two police captains, Maj. Gen. Matthew Rolando Rosado said "It is true that they have been interrogated, which is routine when there is any suspicion that a member of DNCD might be linked to a particular case. "
Those involved in the case of 229 thousand kilos of cocaine are Bulgarian brothers Kaloin Roumenov and Zlatina Raynov. The DNCD seized 11 tanks that initially seemed filled with motor oil, but laboratory analysis determined that the substance was cocaine. Each tank, 55 gallons, had 175 kilos 670 grams.
The drug was found by the DNCD on the premises of a blacksmith shop located at the El Café de Herrera, after being transported in a red Daihatsu truck, license plate L138861. This same vehicle was later traced to the headquarters of the Agency. This discovery was made in late December last year, recalled the head of the DNCD.
