Admit faults in education

The outcome of the evaluation to fourth graders basic was low, said the Director of educational quality of the Ministry of education, Ancell Scheker, highlight analysis for more information about the domain on the competencies expressed in indicators of achievement of the third grade, in October of the year 2010, basic language and mathematics.

The test that was administered and processed by the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (Intec), result which only became known at the institutional level, threw a 38 per cent in correct mathematical answers and 37.5 per cent in language Spanish.

Scheker explained that girls obtained better results than boys and that children who work and those who have older had lower results. It was reported that to strengthen weaknesses, the Ministry carries out technical and teacher training workshops, where statements were made by the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre and u000aMaestra (PUCMM), the Organization of Iberoamerican States for education, science and culture (OEI) and the Centro Cultural Poveda.
