Agosto puts price on heads of DNCD and Police
posted on: Feb 27 2010 11:20 by Royston. Viewed 366 times.The fugitive Jose David Figueroa Agosto, accused of drug trafficking and money laundering, yesterday made a second telephone call to a popular radio program.
The caller, claiming to be Agosto, was defiant and threatened the heads of the DNCD and the police with a RD$30million bounty for their lives, adding war begins today.The National Police Chief, Rafael Guillermo Guzman Fermin, and the president of the National Drugs Control (DNCD), Rolando Rosado Mateo, said yesterday that they did not fear the threats made in the call. They warned that they will continue to fight drug trafficking, recognizing that all agents involved put themselves at risk in this effort.
Fermin and Mateo spoke after a 2 hour meeting with the National District prosecutor Alejandro Moscoso Segarra, and the assistant prosecutor, Frank Soto.
Maj. Gen. Fermin Guzman said that people in their position face constant threats to their lives but they were not afraid to do their jobs.
Meanwhile, the DNCD president said he was doubling security for Colonels Elvis Antonio Florencio Familia and Santos Manuel Daz Medina after the threats made against their families.
