American Airlines to end Puerto Rico to Santo Domingo flights
posted on: Sep 26 2010 10:20 by Royston. Viewed 1105 times.American Airlines and American Eagle have announced the suspension of daily flights from San Juan in Puerto Rico to the Dominican Republic, Haiti and other countries including U.S. cities.
The company spokesman in Puerto Rico's capital, Minnette Velez, also said that some of the 800 workers based in San Juan would lose their jobs.
She said that, as of April 6 2011, AA daily flights from Puerto Rico to Santo Domingo would cease but the subsidiary company, American Eagle, would continue with smaller planes.
Velez added that flights would also be suspended to the tourist destinations of La Romana and Puerto Plata.
American Airlines will also stop flying from San Juan to Boston, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Washington Dulles and Tampa , Florida, and American Eagle will end daily flights to Haiti, Anguilla and Trinidad.
