American lawyer dies in Cabarete
posted on: Jan 13 2011 18:49 by The Reporter. Viewed 2248 times.A well-known American defense lawyer died Wednesday morning in a Sosua hospital after an incident in the Palm Beach Hotel in Cabarete.

Perman Glenn III, from Springfield, Massachusetts (USA) was said to be vacationing here and celebrating his 50th birthday which was Jan 8.
Reports say he was found bleeding badly in the hotel with severe cuts to his legs which is thought to have come from the glass window.
Glenn was a well-known criminal defense lawyer back in the States, best known for leading the charge in alleged police brutality cases.
It is not yet confirmed how he died, but the manager of the hotel in the Dominican Republic where Perman Glenn III was found injured Tuesday night said his death was a tragic accident.
He was apparently taken to a local clinic (Centro Medico Cabarete) in Sosua but died of hypovolemic shock (blood loss) early Wednesday morning.
One local report identifies him as Ferman Glenn and says that National Police investigators in Sosua under the command of Second Lieutenant Juan Marí

Castillo, head of the Science Unit in Puerto Plata, accompanied by local magistrate, Haniel Rodriguez, seized possessions from the deceased's room, including a portion of a green
plant of unknown origin presumably marijuana, a yellow ring, a camera,
cell phone and a block package containing various items of
clothing.Reports also say that three people have been detained by the police for questioning.
