The meeting was held in the National Palac , and was headed by Vice President Rafael Alburquerque, as chairman of the Presidential Commission that negotiates on a number of medical claims.
The meeting was also attended by Public Health Minister Bautista Rojas Gomez, director of the Dominican Social Security Institute, Sabino Baez Alberto Fiallo, medical advisor to the executive branch, and Monsignor Agripino Nez Collado as a mediator.
As reported by Nunez Collado, the Presidential Commission will present at the April 9 meeting a concrete proposal to respond to the demands of doctors and other health sector unions. He said there are still elements that allow a satisfactory answer for the health sector.
"The most important thing is that both sides reaffirmed, their intention, desire and willingness to seek a solution through dialogue, by way of understanding, so everyone has to continue talking, hoping to reach an agreement," he said.
