Apelarán decision of the Sisalril cancel ARS-UASD

The Council of the University autonomous of Santo Domingo (UASD) authorized yesterday your legal consultancy to raise on appeal before the National Council of Social Security (CNSS), to ask that be reconsidered the resolution which repeals the empowerment of the ARS-UASD.

The decision was taken in an ordinary Assembly held yesterday in the Aula Magna, where members of the ARS-UASD and the authorities of the Academy were present.

The rector of the UASD, Matthew Aquino Febrillet, raised as a possible solution to the payment of the debt and use the money invested in infrastructure at the University, and assured to continue with solidarity in health as they have done up to now.

Proposed to defer some of the works, valued at four thousand 60 million pesos, and that some of that money is used to pay the debt.

At a meeting held last Friday, the University Council met the decision of the Sisalril disable the ARS-UASD and gave powers to the rector and the executive director of the health insurance, Fernando Alvarez, to carry out initiatives that understand suitable to seek a way out of the impasse.

Prior to the meeting of the University Council, the UASD authorities met with the Minister of labour, Francisco Dominguez Brito, who asked for mediation in the conflict affecting some 20,000 members, between teachers, employees and dependents.

Superintendent of health and occupational risks (Sisalril), Fernando Caamaño, stated that the ARS-UASD did not comply with the purposes of law 87-01, in which it is established that the administering of health risks are aimed at the management of the u000amandatory health plan established by such legislation.

"As administrator of self-management, the UASD ARS should manage the compulsory health plan of law;" "but the beneficiary population, servants of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, are not recorded in the Dominican system of Social Security, so that ARS does not receive per capita of the system and therefore it has no affiliates that manage them such a plan", said Caamaño.
