Army officer maintains allegations of beating by Amet

Benjamin Sanchez was stopped on his motorbike by Amet near Sabana Perdida in the area of Los Mina. Amet officers attempted to impound his bike and the subsequent beating was captured on film by a crew from Noticias Telemicro.
Interviewed in his bed at the Armed Forces Hospital where he is being treated, Sanchez blamed captain Estvez Luna for the injuries he received. He said after being arrested he was taken to the local AMET office in Alma Rosa, tied up and left under the sun.
According to the medical report, the army officer is suffering from several fractures all over his body.
The Chief of Army, Major General Virgil Perez , visited the officer and promised to investigate the case.
