Arrival of tourists RD continues growing

The arrival of tourists to Dominican Republic continues growing, since, according to official figures there are registered last November, by various airports, 3,862.045 non-resident passengers, for a growth of 151,688 in term of foreigners, and a 4.76 per cent compared with the first eleven months of 2010.

In all, the arrival of resident and non-resident passengers exceeded the visitors 4,290,494 between January and November of last year 2011. Of these, 3,862,045 were non-residents (foreign 521,051 Dominicans and 3,340,994).

According to the latest report of the tourist flow enero-noviembre 2011, published by the Central Bank, in 2008 reached the country by the air 3,604,644 tourists; in 2009, 3,584,006; in 2010, 3,713,178, which demonstrates the growth of the entry of tourists into the country, and that only November had registered a growth of 6.33%, in relation to the tourists who had arrived in October.

The increase u000athe arrival in November is attributed to the tourists who visit during the Christmas period. CB report states that in November arrived 18,812 additional tourists who had arrived in October.

The largest number of visitors to Dominican Republic came from South America, with 100,557 tourists, and which demonstrate a growth of 40.60%, mainly of Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador and Bolivia.

Of North America arrived 66,160 tourists, of whom 59,123 were Americans; followed by 45 of Asia and the rest of the world.

Drops
on the other hand, Central America and the Caribbean recorded a low of 3,568 visitors.

The biggest drop was recorded in the European market, product of the crisis in those countries with a low of 11,506 visitors from Spain, England, Portugal, Scotland and Holland.

The Russian market increased the number of additional tourists in 39,215, while France and Italy u000ain 2010 they recorded negative rates, brought together 15,843 additional tourists.
