Viewed 848 times.Almost a month after the fire on Jan 14 at Gregorio Luperon International airport, Puerto Plata, AERODOM has released the results of a report of a commission chaired by the CEO, Andrew OBrian. To help determine the cause of the fire, The commission engaged the services of external experts, Exponent-Failure Analysis Associates (Illinois, USA), and Firetech-Fire & Controls (Dominican Republic) to augment the reports from the local fire brigade, the rescue service and the Fire Fighting Operations Center.
The result of all these investigations confirms that the fire started from an electrical fault in a breaker box at the La Choza store on the first floor duty free area.
The report was discussed at a meeting with Mr OBrian, Ted Foster, the director of the airport and director of public relations and communications, Yolanda Manan. The opportunity was also taken at this meeting to review the efforts of all those involved in successfully preventing a major incident by not allowing the fire to spread across the terminal building.

Arson may have been ruled out, but who is responsible for damages to the other stores?
And theft?
Speaking of which one was a jewelry/ gift shop that had silver, gold and amber in its shop non of which seems to have left a trace behind.
Doesn't silver, gold and even amber liquify when heated or molten? Nothing was found....
Who is responsible for this?
Arson being ruled out doesn't help the vendors one bit. Such a sad story...millions lost

maybe the jewelry 'disappeared' just before the fire started?
