Aventura: the new Rolling Stones?

Perhaps the comparison of Aventura with The Rolling Stones is bold, but they share the distinction of being one of  the few bands who have filled Madison Square Garden in New York to its 20 thousand capacity.

The Dominican group just stole the English group's record by completing four consecutive capacity filled nights at  Madison.. The man behind this achievement was Flix Cabrera, a Dominican businessman who had the vision and motivation to see this through.

Felix Cabrera has been the best artistic entrepreneur I've met, "said Anthony Romeo Santos to the public when he received recognition from executives at Madison.

In addition to the repertoire and the revolving stage he used, the concerts held other surprises. The appearance of Juan Luis Guerra in the show with a medley of his songs caused a sensation and held a unique emotional charge for Dominicans who see these artists the ultimate representation of Dominican music in recent decades.

Historic Day
That day, Feb. 1, was historic and emotional for the Dominicans and the countrys music. Aventura and Juan Luis have redefined Bachata and taken to a new level.

Backstage, Henry Santos expressed to reporters how he felt about that moment: "It was a historic night for us. Important, because for the first time we shared the stage with  Juan Luis Guerra, which was a dream come true. And to be the first Latino to break these records,  we owe this achievement to the fans."

Henry Santos expressed his happiness that Aventura has seven nominations for the Casandra awards. "This recognition is an honor for us and with Gods will we will be there," he said.

He added: "The love shown us by the Dominican Republic has been incredible, there is more than Bachata from there we can proudly bring to the world."

Aventura is now preparing for the show Feb. 13 at the Olympic Stadium.
