Barrick shows support for Commission appointed by the Dominican State

Barrick Pueblo Viejo welcomes positively the formed by the Dominican, State Working Committee which is responsible for verifying the investment made by the company until the beginning of the production.
As agreed in the eighth article of the contract, "during the period of construction, the Dominican State recruited an independent firm, recognized international reputation, which will proceed to the certification of the direct investments of Barrick Pueblo Viejo, referred to in the feasibility study". The purpose of certification will be that the Secretariat of State for industry and Commerce confirm the amounts of the investments until the beginning of the production commercial.
The Minister of industry and commerce, Manuel García Arévalo, on behalf of the Dominican State, hired SGS Tecnos, S.A., a Spanish subsidiary of the SGS group of international reputation, to carry out the verification of u000athe largest investment in the country
El Eng. Manuel e. Bonilla, President of Barrick Pueblo Viejo, stated its satisfaction at seeing fulfil the agreements with the Dominican State. "Importantly, compliance with all the necessary steps to complete the closure of the various points of the contract, which would continue to progress the construction of the old village project which will translate into benefits for the entire country" said Barrick Chairman Pueblo Viejo.
He also said that "this is a sign of our commitment in Barrick Pueblo Viejo work hand in hand with the State and authorities to contribute to the development and prosperity of the country, always with transparency, integrity and responsibility", ended the engineer Bonilla.
