Bikes impounded in Sosua and Cabarete

Viewed 1314 times.Amet officers in Sosua and Cabarete, undeterred by the violent reactions against their colleagues in Santo Domingo, have been busy impounding motorcycles on the North Coast. Cabarete riders fell victim last week to the purge on the enforcement of the law on wearing hard hats on a motorbike. This week Sosua is seeing the same activity.
Dozens of motorcycles have been seized daily in operations being carried out by the Metropolitan Transport Authority (AMET). The local commander, Freddy Agramonte Martnez, said he was not discriminating against any group and anyone found riding without a safety helmet would be stopped.
