Viewed 14 times.La Junta Central Electoral (JCE) will sign an agreement of cooperation with the Electoral Court of Guatemala, to develop a programme to facilitate the disabled exercise voting rights and their participation in the Organization of the electoral process in Dominican Republic.
Announcement did so yesterday the President of the JCE, Roberto Rosario, after meeting with the President of the Electoral Court of Guatemala, María Eugenia Villagrán of León, who visited him in the company of the Ambassador of his country, Giovanny Castle, and the representative of the foundation of electoral systems, maximum Saldívar, among other officials.
Rosario said that the cooperation agreement will be signed in December when it is approved by the plenary session of the Board. He explained that it could also cover the creation of a network of volunteers to motivate the vote, to take advantage of the positive experience which has been Guatemala in this regard.
Of his side, the. u000aPresident of the Electoral Tribunal of Guatemala explained that he had visited the judges of the JCE in order to thank you for the technical and logistical support extended to the Agency to his country in the Organization of the elections held recently, which included the loan of 1,500 scanners and four technical in the area of computer science.
The JCE technicians that gave computing support to the Court of Guatemala were Alfredo M. Soler, responsible development systems; Cristian Feliz, responsible for technical support, William Díaz and Luis j. Sención, analistas-programadores.
Villagrán de León emphasized that collaboration gave the process transparency and efficiency that allowed the Court to ensure free and transparent elections.
Congratulated the Dominican people and the JCE because the representative of the foundation of systems has a staff and a team of technical computer very advanced. Meanwhile, u000aElectoral (IFES), maximum Saldivar, noted that funds for the programme to ensure the vote for the disabled will be provided by United States international cooperation agency, through that entity, but not specified the amount.
