Brazil will reduce its presence in Haiti

"Brazil will remain firmly next to Haiti" because, in an international context of crisis, the most vulnerable country needs greater attention, underlined Rousseff in a hearing before the press with the Haitian President, Michel Martelly, in Port-au-Prince. The Chairperson of Brazil arrived in Haiti from Cuba and yesterday returned.
As announced by Martelly, the number of Brazilian members of the Mission of the United Nations for the stabilization of Haiti (Minustah) will be reduced from 2,200 to 1,900, according to the plans of the United Nations for the whole of its forces deployed in this Caribbean country.
La Minustah, present in the country since 2004, plans to reduce in 2,700 the u000anumber.
