Canadian tourist arrested with police sergeant on drugs charges

Antonio Ramon had checked in for Montreal on flight 971 on Canje Airlines when he realized officers from the National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) were watching him. He then made his way back to the parking lot .
He was arrested as he got in a Toyota Corolla being driven by Police Sergeant Francis Odal�s Felix Figueroa and was found to have over 3Kg of a white powder, presumed to be cocaine. The drugs were in 242 small plastic bags in a blue bag tied round his waist.
In a separate incident on the same night at La Romana airport, DNCD agents found an abandoned suitcase containing 19 packets of what is thought to be cocaine. The case was found under the access ladders for flight BU1746 bound for Malpensa, Italy.
