Card cloning and banknote forging operations closed down
posted on: Sep 23 2010 8:38 by Royston. Viewed 630 times.The National Police have reported the arrest of two people involved in forging banknotes in Santo Domingo East and also another arrest in Las Americas relating to credit card fraud.
Police spokesman, Nelson Rosario, identified those arrested for forgery as Frank Israel Daz and Ramn Alexander Aquino Peguero. He said they were found in possession of false 200 peso and 50 peso notes. Police also seized a monitor, printer, scanner, CPU and colored inks as well as a US$1,000 check.
Rosario also reported the dismantling of a credit card cloning operation in La Urea, on the Las Americas highway.
He said that Daniel Gustavo Montan Almirante (Morenn) had been arrested in the raid and they had found a complete laboratory of equipment for the creation of cloned cards. They found 24 Visa cards for Banreservas; five MasterCard cards for Banco Len; 18 for Banco Popular and six visa cards for BHD, amongst others.
