Carnival, three visions a book

"Vegan Carnival questions: three versions" presents another view of one of the most important popular culture of Dominican Republic celebrations. Made by historians vegans Cesar Arturo Abreu and Hugo maximum star Guzmán together with sociologist banilejo Dagoberto Tejeda seeks to each author to express their views on the Carnival.

The existing literature on the Carnival Vegan is mostly a collection of stories, chapters, conferences, booklets in some local books and essays, all in a dispersed manner. In some ways, this book collects all these information, expands and updates, while it brings to readers interested in the Carnival, to continue investigating the various aspects of this activity.

What has been the experience of working together with Dagoberto Tejeda?
The experience of working together with Dagoberto Tejeda, apart from enriching, became a challenge, because given the investigative and intellectual quality of Dagobert, this forced us to use the most, to dig deep in our historical sources, written, in oral tradition and the sociological aspects of the behavior of the human condition.

What challenges face, in his view, Carnival vegan?
Are multiple, insofar that demonstration impacts significantly different social, economic and cultural activities of this community. Succinctly, we could list the following reto:

to) maintain fidelity with the primary roots of Carnival, rejecting interference exogenous.

b) at the organisational level, the authorities u000apremises should take a more active role and determinant.

c) control the excessive commercialization and proliferation of visual propaganda in the area of the Carnival

d) introduce innovative innovations (allegories, floats, etc.), as well as seek greater diversification in the characters, to be able to balance the current trend to focus the Carnival character "Diablo Cojuelo".

e) internationalization of the Carnival, ensuring the participation of comparsas and expressions of other regions and countries. Carnival needs to be enriched.
