Cases of fake whisky seized

The Ministry of Public Health, working with the police, seized a quantity of counterfeit whisky, this week.

Health authorities said the alcohol did not meet the minimum standards for human consumption and the packaging and labels had been forged.

The laboratory was discovered in la Calle Respaldo Los M�rtires, in Ensanche Capotillo, National District.

Domingo Almanzar Mejia was apparently caught red-handed as he worked to create fake bottles of Chivas Regal and Johnny Walker (Black Label). Thirty four cases were found along with counterfeiting materials.

The operation was carried out by staff from the Department of Food and Beverages, the Department of Environmental Health and the Department of Drugs and Pharmaceuticals from the Ministry of Public Health. Anibelka Guzm�n and Ana Isa F�liz from the Attorney General�s office were also present on the raid.
