CDEEE continues to sack employees
posted on: Jun 7 2010 9:10 by Royston. Viewed 522 times. More than one hundred employees, including qualified technicians have been sacked in the last 72 hours by companies belonging to the Dominican Corporation of State Electrical Companies (CDEEE).
The dismissals have occurred in EDENORTE in Santiago, Dominican Hydroelectric Generator (EGEHID) in the National District and in Ege Haina, Puerto Plata
The latest sackings were in the Ege Haina, Puerto Plata and follow 19 dismissals at EDENORTE in Puerto Plata over a week ago which are now the subject of a legal dispute.
On Thursday 16 EDENORTE employees were removed from their posts and later more than 50 employees of EGEHID were told not to return to work.
The dismissals by the CDEEE subsidiaries are causing a general feeling of unease in staff, but no clear explanation for the scale of the employment cuts has been offered by CDEEE leaders.
