Mexico and the Central American countries are the hardest hit in the Latin American region by the femicide, Efe said the Mercedes Ruiz-Giménez expert, Member of an international mission on this crime.

The expert ended in El Salvador, along with three companions, a tour, which also included Mexico and Guatemala, to verify government measures to counteract violence against women and the situation of the femicide in these countries.

Ruiz-Giménez, who is Secretary general of the Association of research and specialization of subjects Iberoamericanos (Aieti), noted that "the strongest of the issue of femicide problem specifically is in Central America and Mexico".

The international mission of femicide, who began his tour on November 17 at Mexico, established that "the most affected is El Salvador", followed in "Guatemala, and is also Mexico, all are affected", reiterated u000aRuiz-Giménez.

"Honduras also has many problems on the issue of femicide" and even committed "collective femicide", he said, at the time noted that "lesser degree Nicaragua" suffer from this problem.

He acknowledged that it is difficult to have concrete data of the incidence of femicide, since there is no a record right in each of the countries.

The Committee of experts was able to observe that Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador, despite being "different geographical extent and political systems join them a culture of discrimination to the human rights of women", said at press conference Julia Monárrez Fragoso, another of its members.

These three countries "share extreme anti-women violence such as the femicide, trafficking in human beings, the sexual trafficking of women", stressed.

In addition, the three "need to take more concrete action" to eradicate violence against women, something that u000aIt should even be "regional policy", said Ruiz-Giménez.

The members of the mission reiterated that there is a lack of registration of the murders of women in the countries visited.

However, the killings of the UN's 2011 Global study says the Caribbean and Central America to occupy the third and fourth place in the world in terms of the rate of femicide, he stressed the mission.

He indicated that El Salvador, Jamaica and Guatemala are the first three countries with more feminicides in both regions, with rates higher than the 10 per every 100,000 women.

Since the beginning of the year El Salvador recorded "582 violent deaths of women", according to data from the police National Civil.
