Certify to maternity among 20,000 friends of childhood

La maternity our Lady of la Altagracia joined yesterday of the Group of 20 thousand hospitals friends of children and mothers in the world, after receiving the certification of representatives of the United Nations Fund for children and the Pan American Health Organization. The plaque was given by the representatives of Unicef and PAHO/WHO Director of the hospital, Dr. Juan Cid. They gave rise to the staff of the Centre to continue the work of promoters of exclusive breastfeeding.
"La Maternidad is where most deliveries are carried out in the country and the second most important in Latin America." Al year are born over 20,000 children. "It is a hospital in education, this made sure that new Perinatology, ginecobstetricia and nursing professionals develop their skills with experience of new routines and safer practices for mothers and their babies", said Conde Zabala, Unicef.
