Champion Alberto Contador, sanctioned two years, cycling will miss the 2012 Tour and Olympic Games

Spanish cyclist Alberto Contador, condemned today by the Court of sports arbitration (TAS) by its positive for clenbuterol, will no longer compete until August 6 this year, with which both the Tour de France 2012 London Olympic Games will be lost.
According to the resolution of the TAS, Alberto Contador is suspended for two years with effect from January 25, 2011, what should reduce the period of interim suspension that has been met between 2010 and 2011.
This means that the suspension will expire on August 5 and that the Madrid corridor might return to compete the next day.
Counter has the possibility to appeal to the Swiss courts, but the TAS represents the ultimate sports.
The effect of the resolution is that the cyclist will be stripped of his title of winner Tour de France 2010, as well as the rest of awards to be u000aachieved in competition subsequent to January 25 2011.
El TAS plans to speak at a date yet to be determined, in a parallel procedure, on the application filed by the international cyclist Union (UCI) to impose a fine on Alberto Contador at least 2.485.000 EUR.
The Court has given validity to the thesis of the UCI and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) that the most reasonable is the positive side of the Spanish cyclist was caused by a blood transfusion or consumption of a contaminated nutritional supplement.
The defence of counter argued that the presence of clenbuterol in the blood of the cyclist was due to consumption of a contaminated meat which had been acquired in Spain by the chef in Astana, the team which was then competing.
However, the TAS concluded that contrary to other countries, Spain is not known to have a pollution problem for clenbuterol from beef of u000acattle.
On the other hand, and according to the TAS, there is no other case of sportsman who has gone to a doping control with positive for clenbuterol which was caused by the consumption of beef and veal Spanish.
