CIA has secret prison

In the North of Bucharest, in a residential neighborhood just minutes from the Centre of the capital, stands a secret that the Romanian Government has tried to hide. For years, the CIA used a government building - with the codename of "Bright light" - as a makeshift prison to their detainees more valuable.

There, in the basement of a prison, were the agent of Al - Qaida Khalid Sheikh Mohamed, the architect of the September 11, 2001 attacks and others until their definitive transfer to Guantanamo Base in Cuba in 2006, according to former U.S. intelligence officials close to the situation.

The existence of the CIA in Romania prison was an open secret, but its exact location was never made public. The Associated Press and the German public television ARD located the former prison and knew details of the installation where harsh tactics of interrogation were used
