Civil Defense today begins operating with 9,000 volunteers

From today Friday about 9,000 volunteers of the Dominican Civil Defense will be on the streets to avoid the occurrence of unfortunate accidents, loss of life and the suffering of the population through prevention actions and appropriate responses, within the framework of so-called operating Christmas 2011-2012

With the installation of 897 posts relief in different parts of the country, among other objectives, will be cut by 30% compared to the previous year deaths and injured by accidents and incidents.

Preventive day will be developed in three stages during the festivities of Christmas, new year and Kings.

Executive director of Civil Defense and President of the National Commission on emergencies, general Luis Antonio Luna Paulino, indicated that this shows that "the current management of Government has a clear vision of what should be a genuine policy of risk management in the country, aimed at the elimination" u000a"or decrease in the population risk factors".

To carry out this operating will be available approximately 30 ambulances and three mobile hospitals will be properly equipped and operate under a command coordinated.
