Caba said that agreements with the government also include improving the quality of services offered by hospitals. "This commitment will seal a social pact which would allow physicians to assume our role not only as human beings, but also as professionals who are intimately linked to the needs and expectations of the population," he said.
However, Vice President Rafael Alburquerque, denied that the Government has agreed to a pay rise for doctors and clarified that what was discussed at the last meeting was offers and counteroffers, but refused to refer to the percentage offered by the Government.
Doctors and government representatives will meet again next Wednesday, 21st, this month at the National Palace.

The meeting of physicians with representatives of the Dominican state will be headed by Vice President Rafael Alburquerque, also attended by the Minister of Health, Bautista Rojas, and other officials in the area of health and economy.
