Congress postpones crucial vote

The leader of the Democratic majority in the Senate, Harry Reid, said he had postponed a preliminary vote scheduled for Tuesday "in the light of recent developments".
These include a campaign of petitions by Google which attracted more than 7 million participants and a suspension of service for 24 hours by the Cyber encyclopedia Wikipedia.
The head of the judicial Committee of the lower House, Lamar Smith, followed the pattern, saying that the consideration of a proposal for a similar Bill in the House would be postponed "until that there is greater on a settlement agreement".
