The Generating Company San Felipe has contributed three million pesos towards the cost of these works, including a contribution to the cost of paving the main street of El Javillar, near the Costambar community.
The start of the works was supervised by the mayor Walter Musa, who said the council does not have the financial resources to complete all this work, so he was grateful for the support of President Leonel Fernndez and the Construction and Tourism Secretaries. It is with their help the costs will be met for the construction of the Costambar access road.
Musa explained that the councils heavy equipment was being used to start the leveling and widening of that road, which will be paved no later than mid-March this year.
Meanwhile, the engineers responsible for the work along this road will be forming sidewalks, curbs, storm sewers, canals and ditches. These works are to help control the presence of groundwater, in the area around El Javillar.
The contract for surfacing has been awarded to the Dominican Asphalt Corporation (CONDA - Corporacion Dominicana de Asfalto) under the supervision of Kuky Silverio.
