Cuervo Gómez is internal in armed forces hospital

Former Secretary of the armed forces, Manuel Antonio Cuervo Gomez is internal situation critical but stable in the Central Hospital of armed forces, where was admitted five days ago by a condition breathing.

The situation was confirmed last night by the son of Cuervo Gómez, Gen. Carlos Cuervo Desangles, who said that his ancestor's 85-year-old was transferred with pneumonia. Former Secretary of the armed forces during the Government of the late former President Salvador Jorge Blanco remained in the intended place for senior military.

Cuervo Desangles noted that in yesterday morning the patient withdrew some devices and last night I was "talking hard",.

Together with the patient were his closest relatives in hopes that the situation evolve in a satisfactory manner, although still do not have data of when will be high.

Former Secretary of the armed forces was u000asince retired by the then President of the Republic Salvador Jorge Blanco in August 1986. Jorge Blanco withdrew with the rank of major general, the lieutenant general boasted when he was in command of the Navy was transitional. The withdrawal had been at the request of the same Cuervo Gómez, who emulated the decision of lieutenant general Mario Imbert MacGregor, in 1982, who petitioned President Jacobo Majluta put into retirement a few days prior to President Jorge Blanco assuming the Presidency of the State.

Cuervo Gómez was prosecuted along with the then former President Jorge Blanco in one of the most high-profile court cases in the country.
