Death of priest Rogmans put region South Enriquillo

It is no longer physically, but father Gerardo Rogmans, although he was Dutch, felt Dominican as if he had been born in this land of Duarte. His death put a significant portion of the region, but it will be always remembered for his love, dedication and their sacrifice by the region to which it surrendered and loved in full upon arrival in the country in 1963.
His congregation, the immaculate conception of Mary, sent directly to the parish our Lady of Carmen, in the municipality of Duvergé, Independencia province, where he made significant contributions to the strengthening of the ecclesial communities of basis until 1967, when he was transferred to the municipality of Tamayo, province Bahoruco, contributing to the strengthening of the Church and community organizations.
Henceis taken to the Diocesan Centre of the municipality of Cabral, where also makes important u000acontributions to the peasant movement in the area, to the point which is considered the architect of the independent peasant movement (MCI) and southern farmer block ñ South, as well as the Organization of courses and seminars for young peasant community.
Rogmans, died on Sunday, 20th of this month at age 80, in Tetteringen, Holland, his country of birth, and this Saturday the parish San Antonio de Padua, Tamayo, records a mass for his report, together with the Catholic radio station radio Enriquillo, directed for several years

last Wednesday the Catholic radio station devoted two hours of its programming to highlight the priestly work of this man who made the will of God in this neglected area in the southwest of Dominican Republic.
