The portfolio has identified 275 species of plants in critical condition, 191 endangered and vulnerable, 79 as well as also 57 species critically endangered, endangered 77 and 89 vulnerable.
Of these, the national system of monitoring of species has prioritized 10 species of plants and animals for study 10 comprehensive.
This list is the first approach in the categorization of the endangered species of flora and fauna of Dominican Republic and its structuring used international criteria designed for these purposes.
Experts from various national and international institutions, on the basis of investigations that have participated in the elaboration of this list u000amade in the country on this topic. This list will help the country establish national regulations required for the implementation of the conventions which the country is a signatory.
Dominican Republic had been working with the red list which has been designed internationally, but now is when there is a list itself and adapted to the reality of the country. Environment required that this list has major implications and benefits as at the international level are taken into account categories of species threats to approve draft investment.
