The General direction of beautification of roads and avenues of ring road in the country (DIGECAC) carried out an operation of cleaning and reconditioning of each of the areas of the lighthouse to Columbus, located in the municipality Santo Domingo Este.
The work of renovation of the historic monument were directed personally by the director of the DIGECAC, Andrés Antonio Henríquez Polanco. The officer, after overseeing the brigades of workers, said that they spared no effort or resources to make it totally renewed this important monument that is visited daily by students and national and foreign tourists. He explained in the work were technicians and workers at the service of the institution which directs, using latest generation machinery in the area of cleaning, as well as trucks and other belongings. "We work hard to leave totally reconditioning this monument is a pride for residents of the part" u000a"East of Santo Domingo", said.
