The proposal of the Colombian President, Juan Manuel Santos, opened an international debate that could touch the legalization of drugs sparked new discussions in her country, world's leading producer of cocaine, which notes the failure of policies prohibitionist.

"Continue to struggling with all that we have against drug trafficking because it is a national security issue for us," said Santos this week on a visit to London.

But, he added, "as well as us we have been very effective and successful in the fight against drug trafficking, drugs are still flowing, continue exporting, still consuming".

A "Frank and open discussion on ways to combat this scourge" would be "useful" and "Welcome", called saints, to emphasize that the debate "should be given at the international level and with all the countries present".

Their statements were rejected by the former President Álvaro Uribe, u000awho, during his two terms of Government, from 2002 to 2010, boosted with United States Plan Colombia of drug control, through which Washington has disbursed about 6,000 million dollars to Bogotá in 10 years. "Legalize: who do not believe are more risks to the Colombian families, children, targets schools of microtráfico", wrote Uribe in Twitter. “."Legalize: then there will be legal marijuana and illegal trade in heroin and cocaine",".""Legalize: all legal narcotics planting costs can destroy nuestrta Amazonia", were others of their messages.
